DANIEL VIPPERMAN

A lifelong artist, my interest in oil painting took off in the mid 1980's. While living in Mount Vernon, Virginia, I would spend most summer days on the Mall in Washington, DC, visiting the National Gallery.  I studied the brushwork of the masters and examined how, if you looked close enough, you could see the layers of individual colors that blended as you stepped back from the piece.  My goal is to seek out the colors in each scene I paint, maintaining the integrity of each individual color and inviting the audience to step back and discover the composition created by the array of colors and tones.
